Carbon Reduction Plan

Supplier name: Leadenhall Project Management

Publication date: 11th July 2024

Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Leadenhall is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2022

Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.

The baseline year was chosen as it is the most recent year with complete data and marks the point before implementing our emissions reduction strategies. Due to substantial organisational changes and the establishment of more rigorous data collection methods, this year serves as our new baseline. This baseline will measure progress against our emissions reduction strategies and track our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2030. Regular updates and improvements in data collection will be made to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness in future reports.

Scope 1: Emissions are <1 as we do not own any company vehicles and travel to sites via public transport.

Scope 2: Emissions are from purchased electricity for office operations.

Scope 3: Relevant categories include waste-generating operations, business travel, and employee commuting. Other categories like upstream and downstream transportation are not quantifiable as we do not distribute physical products.

Emissions reduction targets

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

Existing Emissions Reduction Targets:

Leadenhall Project Management is to immediate actions to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. We established our initial emissions reduction targets based on the baseline year of 2022.

Targets:

To continue our progress toward achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:

  • Short-term Target: We project that our carbon emissions will decrease over the next two years to 14.07 tCO2e by 2025, representing a 30% reduction from our baseline year emissions of 20.1 tCO2e.

  • Medium-term Target: By 2027, we aim to reduce our carbon emissions by 60% from the baseline year, targeting a total of 8.04 tCO2e.

  • Long-term Target: We are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030, which will require an ongoing reduction of our carbon footprint year-over-year.

Strategy to Achieve Targets:

To achieve these targets, we will implement the following strategies:

  1. Energy Efficiency Improvements:

Implement energy-saving practices within our office.

  2. Transition to Renewable Energy:

Increase the use of renewable energy sources for our office operations.

  3. Waste Reduction and Management:

Enhance recycling and reduce waste generation.

Implement waste reduction initiatives during project management activities.

  4. Sustainable Business Travel:

Encourage the use of public transport and other low-emission travel options.

  5. Employee Engagement and Training:

Conduct training sessions to raise awareness of sustainability practices.

Encourage employees to adopt sustainable commuting practices.

  6. Regular Monitoring and Reporting:

Regularly monitor and report our emissions to track progress towards our targets.

Update our Carbon Reduction Plan annually to reflect any changes and improvements in our strategies.

By implementing these strategies and continually assessing our progress, we are confident in our ability to meet our carbon reduction targets and ultimately achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 6.03 tCO2e by 2028. This is a reduction of 80%

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 3.6 tCO2e, a 18%ge reduction against the 2022 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

  1. Energy Efficiency Upgrades:

Replaced outdated office equipment with energy-efficient models, resulting in a reduction in electricity consumption and lower Scope 2 emissions.

  2. Renewable Energy Transition:

Implemented a shift to renewable energy sources for our office operations, significantly decreasing our carbon footprint associated with energy use.

  3. Enhanced Recycling Program:

Launched a comprehensive recycling initiative that increased recycling rates and reduced waste generation, contributing to lower carbon emissions.

  4. Sustainable Travel Policy:

Encouraged the use of public transport, leading to a notable decrease in business travel emissions.

  5. Employee Engagement and Training:

Conducted sustainability training sessions for employees, promoting eco-friendly practices and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within the organisation. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and achieving our Net Zero goals.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  1. Further Energy Efficiency Initiatives:

Plan to implement smart energy management systems to optimize energy usage and reduce consumption across all office operations.

  2. Expansion of Renewable Energy Sources:

Explore partnerships with local renewable energy providers to increase the percentage of renewable energy used in our operations.

  3. Sustainable Procurement Policies:

Develop a sustainable procurement strategy to ensure that all purchased goods and services meet environmental criteria, reducing overall emissions.

  4. Carbon Offset Programs:

Investigate options for investing in carbon offset projects to balance out any remaining emissions and contribute positively to the environment.
