The Bromley Archive and Museum Store is a key element of the relocation of Bromley Central Library & Museum, providing a dedicated, state-of-the-art facility for the preservation and management of the borough’s heritage. Designed to meet The National Archives’ stringent specifications, the new building will facilitate controlled environments for the conservation of historical objects, artworks, archives, and publications that document the rich history of the London Borough of Bromley.
Located within the grounds of the Grade II Listed Priory and Historic Priory Gardens, the site currently functions as a grounds maintenance depot and council storage facility. The project will sensitively repurpose this space to create a secure, purpose-built archive that enhances accessibility while ensuring long-term protection of valuable collections. By integrating specialist storage solutions and conservation measures, the new facility will support research, exhibitions, and public engagement, strengthening Bromley’s cultural and historical legacy.
