Rough Sleepers Centre

LONDON

Year:        2020 - 2024
Cost:        £1.4m
Sector:     Housing
Client:      City of London Homelessness Prevention | Rough Sleeping Department

The City of London Homelessness Prevention & Rough Sleeping Department commissioned a new Rough Sleeping Assessment Centre in the centre of London. The project was to refurbish and convert an existing building into short-term accommodation and support services for London City’s Rough Sleepers. The new centre consists of 14 sleeping pods with meeting rooms and a communal lounge and kitchen.

This listed building that is partially build on top of the Church’s graveyard had been abandoned for many years, requiring significant structural repairs. Through careful design consideration the team was able to deliver a low-carbon retrofit, transforming this Centre in the heart of the City for the most vulnerable members of our community.

Leadenhall provide full Project Management, Technical Advisory and Contract Administration services, leading the multi-disciplinary team on this highly complex project.
