St George’s Leisure Centre is situated in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on a highly sensitive and historic site, alongside St George’s Gardens (a Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation) and adjacent to the Grade I Listed St George in the East Church, designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor.  

The project includes the delivery of a new leisure and wellbeing center that replaces the 1960s existing center. It will address the modern leisure needs of Tower Hamlets and encourage health and well-being. The new centre will include a swimming pool, teaching pools, and wet and dry leisure facilities. Alongside side this, the project will provide new high quality rentable family homes to address the housing needs within Tower Hamlets.

Leadenhall are project managers and are leading the multi-disciplinary team on this highly complex project. Leadenhall have been fundamental in establishing the strategic programme and provided expert advice on viable construction procurement routes to ensure London Borough of Tower Hamlets deliver the new leisure facilities and affordable housing by 2027.
